Hope all is well in T-Town, I do miss the trails out there.

Seat cover

Time to replace my 10 years old seat cover. I found this on ebay but it was already sold.
Is it an oem Ktm part?

Thanks, Grinch.
It's a '03. Would this 99' orange/black seat fit mine?
Edit. I can't find Laramie's post on seats&part numbers.
Anyone knows if there is a seat cover on these same colours&outfit?

Is 58407140550 orange or is it black? My KTM dealer doesn't know. Or so he says.
That seat cover shown above looks good, doesn't it?

KTM World in Georgia has an easy to use parts finder, type in year, scroll down for model, etc.

http://partsfinder.onlinemicrofiche....asp?make=ktmdb

Your dealer must be a knob, here's the description that pops up when you type in that seat cover part number.
SEAT COVER BLACK 18L. 2000

WTB parts and pieces

Just bought a new (to me) 2007 KTM 640 Adventure. This is BajaDad's bike that he built up for the Mexican 1000 in the Red Bull livery. It went to a guy in KS, but the bike was not really what he was looking for, he traded it in on something else and I bought it from the dealer.

The bike did not come with the following things and I am looking for used if they are around.

- OEM tool kit (I can build up a kit, but my understanding is there are a couple of wrench's in the stock set up that are nice to have and specific to this model)

- Owners Manuals and Parts Books (I would like 07 but any book that is correct will work. There are a bunch of 2005 sets on eBay, are these identical to the 2007?)

- Touratech rear luggage rack (From what I have read, these hold up better than the SW Motech and Happy Trails models. If I am wrong set me straight)

- Need a center stand and need to be schooled on what works. I understand some work with the side and some do not, please point me in the right direction.

Reply here or PM

Cheers, Chris

Chris;
The 2005 manual should be the same as 2007 as I do not believe there were any changes in the bikes.

Check out the ProMoto Billet rack, that is what I have and I am impressed by it.

It's more what sidestand works with the stock centre stand, so get a stock centre stand and a SW Motech side stand will work with the stock centre stand.

The only thing I can think of that you really need from the stock tool kit is the bottle opener!

Cheers

Something is rusted. The axle should slide right out easily. I suggest using a punch and then checking all the bearings before putting it back together.

Chris,

Welcome!!

Not sure where you will find a tool kit but I use mine EVERY TIME I work on the bike.

That goes for the owner's manual and parts books too.

For your model anything after '02 for the Adventure will put you into the Hiflo engine/cylinderhead which was the major change for '03, others with newer engines may know more.

My Touratech rack has workes well for me and takes straps/etc. No issues with it.

Good luck with the centerstand, iti s necessary IMHO and worth the effort.

There are several good threads buried in this mass of info.
Try a google search.

Guts has a nice selection of covers (and tall foam if you're long-legged like me).

I have the black/orange on my '99.

Now if the toolkit for my LC4 had a spark plug socket that actually fit in the head and on the plug it may be worth the money.

Just use the grinder to slim it down, now mine works/fits perfect.

Yep, can't need too much grinding because the snap-on sockets I've got fit without any modification.
