Sorry this took so long, but the bike I bought years ago has this set up on it and the pipe was loose, couldn't be snugged up so I shimmed it with a piece of aluminum flashing. A real Adv'r would have used a beer can, I'm just a poser

My 01 I too changed the clutch cover.

Mine is black though and I can't remember what year it came off of. Maybe a Duke??

Anybody have an extra new magnetic oil drain plug?

Mine is a little buggered up. I sure hope my case isn't messed up.

The plug is steel; the case is aluminum. If you overtightened then that would be Al from your case threads... if so here's a thread that may help:

Insert is probably the best bet.

I'd be inclined to swap out the cover on my 02 to get a sight glass over there, the dipstick is kind of a PITA.

Any idea how to figure out which cover you have?

All the LC 4 side covers with the sight glass will be the same {except color} whether it be a Duke, SMC, SXC, E or A models...

Anyone know anything about a severe vibration coming through clutch levers when it's pulled very slightly? I replaced a broken clutch cable and rerouted it differently so i'm not sure if it's normal and binding on the previous cable prevented me from feeling it or if my clutch is on it's way out/bearings/tiny austrian engine dwarfs. I have the o-ring for the clutch basket on it's way because it was missing, I don't suppose that could be the cause though could it? The clutch frictions plates have a small amount of movement towards and away from the engine against the retaining plate that's attached top the pushrod, could this account for the vibrations?

I'm pretty used to it vibration but it feels like somebody tack welded a chunk of metal on one side of the clutch...

Also, everytime I remove the left side cover I end up breaking that stupid gasket. Any problem with using gasket maker?

Thanks. I just did some snooping, does that mean that they're all grey and that there's no option of black?

There's always powder coating as an option.

So this is where I get confused, the Munn microfiche shows grey covers for 05-07 (at least the description indicates grey color).

Powder/paint is certainly an option.

Just pick up the phone and give them a call, I'm sure they will help you.

Or if you like PM wrk2surf I know he just got one for his LC4.

He tried powder coat and didn't like it that much.
