Bad news for me.
I had a heart attack this past Tuesday, Mar 5th. It was a big one and did damage. It was my fourth one. I am home now as I write this as there was nothing they could do for me. I have already had all that they could do surgically for me (4 Bypasses, and 1 stent). I am being treated medically now. I am pretty weak but keeping my spirits up as best I can.
I don't know how this last heart attack is going to effect my riding on my Wee. Right now, it is too heavy for me to pick up off the side stand. I can pick my Honda Helix Scooter up off the side stand but am under doctors orders not to be on any motorcycle for now. My Strom riding days may be over. I do hope to continue on my scooter if I can. If you are so inclined, a prayer or two for me might help.

Keep slugging
Best wishes for a recovery mate. Consider yourself mentioned in my prayers. Don't give up and polish the Wee Strom often.

Well, that sounds pretty serious.
As it happens, one of my friends, a long-time biker and motorsport enthusiast, had a heart failure last week. He had had another seizure (in the brain) last September, but made it through that one surprisingly well... or so it seemed, until last week. But after this one, he´s kept in sleep, and maybe not even the doctors currently know, if he´s ever going to wake up, and if he does, what is his condition then. You´re right, all we can do is pray. And try not to worry too much about getting back on the bike right now, that´s just a hobby afterall. I´m hoping there will be better news coming for you, and the friend of mine I mentioned. |

Nothin' but time.
Doug, hang in there. Don't let worry get to you, just take it one day at a time. You want prayers, you got 'em. And remember: "They all do that!"

Doug,
Prayers and thoughts your way. Don't get too down. You're still here to be with family and friends and that's what matters. Listen to your doctors and take care of yourself. Scott in Shoreview '79 Suzuki GS550 |

Best wishes...and take it one step at a time.
If ADV shows us anything...there are many ways to enjoy motorcycling! And if and when "that phase" of life passes us by...I'm thinking about getting a well used Jeep Wrangler...Just stick an "ADV" sticker on it!

Hang in there
Doug-
All my prayers are with you my friend. Don't let this non-riding get you down. Focus on what you can do, the rest will come.

Good luck and ++good vibes.
When it comes to getting back on the bike, it's amazing what can be achieved if you want it enough and refuse to be "told". Heal well. |
