[QUOTE=Baja Dad;21987171]Very NICE !!!!!!!!!!
JC and LR two of America's best off road racers

The front of the pack keeps getting further away!
I think JC should have to ride a CRF150 and LR should ride his 1989 KX80 ISDE bike

They would probably still be at the front of the pack

Andy Grider To Ride For Team Lucky Sperm In BAJA RALLY

Erendira, BC-Bajarallymoto has just announced that Andy Grider will represent Team Lucky Sperm in the inaugural BAJA RALLY this October 4-6 in the wine growing region of Baja California Norte. Grider, who just turned 40 years old this week, has 6 DAKAR starts including a podium 3rd as Robby Gordon’s navigator in 2009.

“I’m so excited about this rally. From my very first rally experience, I fell in love with the aspects of roadbooks and navigation combined with the technical skills needed to compete at a high level so it brought a new life to my racing career”, explains Grider, “After many years of surfing fishing and racing in BAJA, I always wanted to do a rally down there. So when I heard about the BAJA RALLY it was a no brainer for me. I’m really thankful to Team Lucky Sperm who is always generous when they come to Baja. Cameron Theriot (owner) always does a voluntary contribution to charity so we’ll see what they donate this time and excited to announce that soon.”

Grider noted what a difference he’s found between international rallies and traditional motorsports events in the US.
“I’ve always been really impressed by how professional the DAKAR is, for example, in everything from the registration process to the scrutineering (tech inspection) and the overall event. These events set an example for how racing should be.”

“Andy will bring heat on the field and help raise this premiere event to a whole new level for sure, said BAJA RALLY director Scotty Breauxman, “No one entered should discount the fact that Andy will be hard to beat as he brings more rally experience than anyone entered so far. Beyond that, anyone who knows Andy Grider will tell you he’s one of the nicest guys on the planet, and that bodes really well for the rally indeed.”

If first stage start order is by entry order or race number, then you all are going to be ahead of the aliens. Just ride a VERY wide sidecar, drive crazy and swerve a lot, and make a lot of dust, then they will never pass you! When the odds are against you, you have to get evil!

I had to send in my withdrawal notice. So, now there's one less guy racing for Not Last.

Life conspired against me this year, and I just can't make it happen but I hope I get another opportunity. This is shaping up to be quite the event. Congrats to you Scotty!

At least I got first place in the DNS category. . . (I think).

Have fun down there, and drink a tequila for your homies who couldn't make it.

Yes, it would be great to see them all. Don't forget Paul Krause! That photo of LR is on a 950, but he raced a 660 in the 2004 Dakar. Krause was the only one crazy enough to ride the twin on that team. (As a high-number privateer, I had my scrutineering early in 2004, so I was milling around like a spectator when Krause, Roesseler and Harden entered their scrutineering the next day. For once, I got to show them the way. I speak some French and I had already been through the complicated process, so I told them where to get their numbers, etc. We were photographed a few times as the 4 American competitors, but I didn't see them much afterwards. They went to their warm hotels while I walked to my cold tent in the Claremont-Ferrand snow! During the rally I always went to the start line early to see these guys and my other heros off, but we were in different worlds out there.)

fun fun

Still getting little boxes of stuff from the mailman every day.

Thanks again for your help, Dave P!
