I'm a volunteer as well, I don't think we will make it on Thursday but will see you on Friday.

I'm 85% certain I'll be riding from Tecate one of those days and riding back Monday.

Also, what time must volunteers/officials get down there? The opening ceremonies/festivities in Ensenada on Thursday are optional but what time on Friday? Check-in is between 9:00am-4:00pm Friday at El Palomar.

Haven't been to Mexico since my bachelor party 38 years ago. Should be interesting.
And I hope it was one hell of a bachelor party!

If you're coming down the 5 freeway, cross through SD/TJ. Tecate is a good ways east from the 5. Take the toll road from TJ and you'll have smooth sailing until you hit the Ensenada red light traffic jam. Santo Tomas is just south of Ensenada.

Awesome! Are you trucking down on Friday or riding? What time do you think you'll hit Santo Tomas?

Prep for the Colorado crowd is moving right along...

First, I took part in some intensive rally training this weekend:

Now there's some bike prep, supervised by our friend Kay:

And later today, the whole show gets on the road. It was supposed to be much later, but given our government couldn't get their poop in a group, the meeting over a trail closure has been postponed (the trail closure has not, unfortunately).

We pick up our pit crew in Vegas tomorrow morning, and we'll arrive at the border on Thursday sometime. Can't wait to see you all there!

No online tracking from BAJA RALLY side. We are using SPOTs for safety only this time.

Next time we may have public tracking.

I assume a lot of people will be posting updates from the restarts and fuel zones. Should be some good chatter out there.

It looks like there will be a bit of a bike show in the San Nicolas parking lot on Thurs evening. We will be there by mid afternoon.

First stop: El Primo Nava seafood (behind Sn Nic) for some clams au gratin and maybe a Negra Modelo.
