I actually did an okay job writing this report. I truly can't wait till next year. There are many who promise to go with us. We will split up into various groups and routes to accommodate all skillzzz and needs.

Perhaps you should read the Siberski Extreme thread by Walter Colbatch before you say that.....

Just had to re-read this thread.
So good..
This part is brilliant.

At this point in the trip, I'm thinking that I have ridden everything and every kind of terrain Baja has to offer. Many people or friends have asked what was the hardest part of the ride, what was the hardest trail? That is hard to answer. The Race Course 7 Mile Magoo Whoops on the first day were likely the hardest, or most physically demanding. The sections where the ranchers were burning stuff. The Charla Heads in deep sand was likely the most challenging, or technical. The ride has been such a mix. Gravel roads, deep sand, mountains, rubble, rock, cactus, beach and highways. It is all a mix, a Baja cocktail. I think this is the magic of riding on such an unspoiled region of old Mexico. It is a constant mix, the terrain changes with elevation, changes occur as you get closer to the coast, the Pacific being more dramatic, the Sea of Cortez more mellow.

There were times we would stop on a ridge, elevated above the valley's below; cratons that we just traversed. The dark and desolate mountain ranges frame the basins of green. I turn and look 180 degrees at the trail that awaits. The same expanse frames the view, a green basin rimmed by barren, hard, Laramide orogony upheaval represented by massive lonely mountains. The demarcation of the two sides of the peninsula. The view is 30 miles or more of where we have been and where we are going. Imagine a broken hub or blown engine at this point? The basins that are so green are nothing more than a dense and geomorphological habitation of thriving and healthy cactus and all their cousins and neighbors. The cactus forest trail was woven into the standing sentential cactus giants, likely places where few have ventured.
