Yeah, you are right. I had a lady pull over to let me pass just yesterday. Also yesterday myself and a Mustang convertible pull up to a 4-way stop across from each other at the same time. I was turning left, she was turning right, the same direction I was going. She had the right of way.

She waved real big at me and motioned for me to go first! A big wave from me and off I went

Last week I saw a news report about the state patrol stepping up traffic stops for left lane hoggers. Specifically on I-5 around Everett.

I've never seen it enforced, but as you can legally pass on the right in NH it doesn't usually bother me.

Ive written this ticket before and twice had judges throw it out in court. They didnt really explain why but judges often do what ever they want in court.

Passing on the right is definitely legal in California, if there are two or more lanes going the direction you are traveling.

This article reports that the Washington State Patrol pulled over 14,421 drivers for left lane violations in 2012.

(In respect to the poll question and its third option) Even at that number though, it is still just statistically unlikely that anyone in this thread will have seen it happen.

Central Mississippi and I never see it enforced. In fact I often see LEO's passing on the right (not running code) instead of moving a violator out of the way or educating them. "Keep Right Except To Pass" signs are getting more rare down here also.

Never seen it enforced in tennessee, never seen a no passing on the right enforced either. But I have seen multiple tickets written for things like 2 and 3 over.

Getting out of the left lane for Californians will be a totally new concept to them. Hands down one of the worst and most selfish states I have ever driven or rode a bike in.

In New Hampshire, pickup trucks are sold with a deed to the left hand lane in the glove compartment.

Here in Ohio there is no law therefore no enforcement. I actually read that in the local paper not too long ago.

In Hawaii, the left lane is usually the slow lane...
But then, the next state 2500 miles away yet we have four Interstate highways!
