My favourite route in UK

Go to a Village called 'Tongue' in the very north of Scotland and from there, take the road to Ulapool. Amazing scenery. Isle of Skye is also a must!

The list of places to ride in Scotland is truly endless...

try these:

legal off road is trickier. try here for up to date trail information:

As a very rough guide for a speed run to the action I would make for the west first. Come in on the M20, keep west on M26 and join the M25 still heading west. Come off at the M40 and head for oxford but once there follow the ring road and get to Burford. Ride the A 424 all the way up and keep following onto the A44 to Evesham.....head towards the Malvern Hills then come south a little towards Ross on Wye. Check out Symonds Yat. Get into the Brecon Beacons then head north up towards Snowdonia. Check out Ben Nevis. Now come back into England, head for the Peak District and Winnats Pass. From there onto the Lake District and Hardknott pass.....etc etc.

Glencoe pass in scotland, the road to Applecross. anywhere along the west coast really and on the isle of skye....basically just plot yourself a route that takes in as many of the National Parks as possible. If you love nature they will not disappoint.

have fun, watch out for the midges in scotland and get the speed cameras loaded on your satnav if you have one......

This won't tell you where to go but it'll tell you the best tarmac route to get there:

Another classic route in Scotland is Perth-Blairgowrie-Ballater-Nairn, takes you through the heart of the Cairngorms.

You mean the road along the coast or the one more inland?
My wife and I will be there in May,,, not on a bike though,,, and looking for the good roads and scenery too.
Isle of Skye is already on our list.

Agreed. This ^^has some classic riding in it. If you go over the 'Lecht Ski centre road' to Tomintoul from around Ballater and on to Aviemore it is truly superb and you might even find places you can be a little offroad ;)
