That is the same hole that got me last year at the Rock Ride. Lot of energy expended trying to get the bike out = sucks. Good vids Matpoc, wish I was there.

It was a spectacular weekend. Weather was unreal - perfect Spring temps, sunny skys. Thanks to everyone for being cool, and helping with the cleanup. All the sites were looking great when we left. Your help is appreciated very much.

I'm glad everyone got out and had a good time. I'm fried from the weekend, I may have a picture or two to post later. Too tired now.

Great CNR! Very nice to meet loads, and I mean, loads of new folks, as well as the old skool CNRers.

Big thanks to:
  • master of ceremonies...akarob
  • Mrs akarob (delish dinner and desserts on Friday night!)
  • drewha (seriously? you trailer your bike to a ride and then let someone else ride it for most of the day while you suffer on a shitty DR350...you da man...AND you can cook! Saturday night meal of chili with all the fixin's)
  • CBejbl for letting me try that death trap KTM 500...I think I may have found religion!
  • the boys who helped me walk Centipede (DR350) out of my pathetic attempt to follow a Husaberg
  • everyone who brought firewood
  • Rhode Trip for leading on Sunday
  • tmlee for letting me ride the baby Husky
  • mrt10x (who I stupidly forgot in my initial post) for picking a great spot for the communal get-together and the fixings for everyone to share...I don't think ya coulda gotten a bigger fire pit ;)
  • all the 2-strokers for the smell...just love that smell
  • everyone for interesting conversation
  • and mother nature for the freaking awesome weather
On to the pics (unedited)...I didn't take that many because I was simply having too much fun on Saturday. Far cry from commutin' on 10 inchers.

The REAL reason I go to CNRs

The "rider's meeting" on Saturday morning at 9:55 sharp

a shitload of people preparing for the big bike ride (with a couple of wee bikes 'cos, yeah, I use "the girl" excuse)

Getting ready attack Shetucket Turnpike (mmm, two Huskys)

sand pit near 165

ummm, we're missing some folks...I still don't know what happened after the sandpit...a bunch of us waiting up on Noah's Ark Rd (I'd put names but everyone is either named Jim or Matt)

oh, there you are!

come to think of it, I didn't get to ride the Husaberg...maybe if I brought ice cream

lunch break at Green Falls (this is about 1/3 of the total group)

some of the super-easy stuff ... that's my boy drewha who generously allowed me to "borrow" his Husky for, um like, the whole ride

soooo dusty out there...I couldn't believe the lack of mud hell, oh I mean holes

Blitzkrieg Trail in Arcadia Management Area in little Rhody ... that's drewha on my DR350

Plain Road actually goes the whole way through...who's the happy boy next to his 990?!

there are no words...

bladder elimination time on Newport Road...those Waterbury boyz

gratuitous pic of "my" bike being ridden by its proper owner

I still don't know why this was a problem

available for hire

many men in the woods and I wasn't frightened

the removal of the flags

Sunday a bunch of the big bike folks, joined by two new folks from MA, did an easy pace gravel ride (thanks Jim for leading!)...here's alcontrast with full camp pack with cheesebot carrying a lot of our crap

gratuitous pic of cheesebot

Rhode Trip showing how it's done getting up Stepping Stone

MrsTrip on the little TDub!

MalayznSenzashn and friend Matt riding up Stepping Stone ... did someone mention KLR powah?!

alcontrast gettin' it done

there's my boy

we headed into Arcadia Management Area which was CRAWLING with horses...this is on our way to the sandpit...first time on dirt for the two gents from MASS

The horse event (NEATO) in Pachaug on Saturday WAS Arabians as I suspected, so we did well to stay far way. They can be really high-strung.

The event in Arcadia on Sunday was the West Greenwich Horsemen's (loving the irony) Association Blessing of the Horses. I suppose there was no need to slow down as the horses were good to go.

Hope to meet up with those of you who travelled from afar at other events. Someone needs to organize the kindling.

THANK YOU AKAROB!

Also there is a horse event there this weekend as well, as I'm sure your aware of by now.
I think I was the only one with a 450 on the c&r but pretty sure it wasn't me.there was some bikes there that wasn't with ride.

Thanks to all for a fun ride and help with the (car) flat tire...
Made it home on the back roads in one piece...

Here is some raw video up to the lunch break, all I got due to dead batteries...

Another epic CNR for sure. Thank you Rob, and everyone who who helped pull it together. It was great seeing a lot of familiar, and new faces after that long cold winter. Quite a few distance travelers too; sounds like there may be a new CNR a'brewing (or fermenting) in the Finger Lakes region (home of the Best Wine of the 2013 Pachaug Dualspork CNR, Red Cat).

Speaking of cats, I caught this Tiger by the tail

We were there too.

Howdy boys. We were the 3 guys on KTM's at the first site as you all pulled in. We spoke with a few riders as you guys pulled in looking for the party. That was a epic weekend and just all around good vibes. The riding was so good this weekend that I burned all the 2 stroke oil I had with me. i was bummed out cause we typically do a Sunday morning ride before we load up but I was on fumes. In true ADVRIDER style you guys not only gave me oil but filled my tank with premix allowing me to have another awesome day riding. Again thank you so much. We even met 3 riders who live local to us and hopefully will ride with them again.

It was a perfect weekend.. The weather couldn't have been any better although a few of us probably should have brought slightly warmer sleeping gear; myself included... I think the only thing better for me would have been if I brought two bikes; which at a least a couple of individuals did!

Thanks again to AkaRob for setting it up and putting together the route for the bigger bikes as well as almost too many others to name for showing up and contributing to the group experience! See LILolita's post earlier for a fairly complete list of key players but I think she missed MrT who brought a ton of gear in his truck for communal use.. Part of his socialist agenda I suspect but still a nice gesture! Plus there were others that brought wine, cheese, maple syrup, chili, meatball sandwiches, etc and all out of their own goodwill. It's great how just about everyone who comes out for these mostly DIY events goes out of their way to help clean up, pay for sites, contribute with food or firewood, or whatever.. Thanks to you all as well!

There was some enjoyable motorcycle riding also. I may have some ok video to post in the near future but I haven't even checked it yet..

Awesome!

What a great weekend! The weather was spot on, riding fantastic, and a great group to share it with! It was nice to meet everyone and thanks for all the hard work by so many to make it all happen. There was enough GREAT food there to feed an army! Another treat for me was riding down from Vermont and seeing and SMELLING all the trees / bushes in FULL bloom. Awesome!
