Fix broken/cracked plastic gas tank??

I installed a NEW vintage Acerbis tank for my 83' XL600R. Everything went smoothly other than going all over the damned desert to make a T for the fuel lines and get a second petcock, which was a Clarke btw. I put the tank on and bolted everything up. and when I went to put gas in it, it leaked from the petcock. Turns out the bolts I bought at the hardware store were just slightly too long I tried to get a picture of it inside but it was too hard. The bolts arent stinking through but it leaks slowly.

I punctured the 'little bubbles' where the petcock screws go I tried to get pictures inside but it's too hard. How can I seal them up?? the screws arent sticking all the way through but it does leak at the two bolts in picture two.

I am pretty sure this is fixable, I mean its gotta be, or else I have a $300 paperweight thats way too big

I did post in the XL600 thread but I figure this will be more exposure.

they sale a tank epoxy at Autozone or O'Rillies you could take the bolts out get shorter ones put the epoxy in and put the new bolts in. will stop the leak
