On average, we get 30% of our annual snow after the start of Spring. But this has its upside; here's Sunshine last May, with daughter Bri:

When the weather gets warm, the wimps get skiing. But the boarders are made of tougher stuff.

5C and sunny for the past two days but tomorrow it is gonna go to shite for a week. No snow left except for some rotting stuff the plows left piled up. Still salting the roads almost everyday though.

If I still had every dollar I spent on motorbikes I would be a richer man but a poorer person.

That's the bitch of living in Southern Ontario. In 11 years I have seen 2 sleds out here in the country beside the so-called OFSC trails. And the one ran over the Bell box disconnecting the phone lines!
Not enough snow for a sled, too cold and icy to ride. No hills to ski. Another dumping in progress.

I know . Woe is me.

At least there's beer.

The initial crash happened around 11:30 MT in the northbound lanes of Highway 2 near the Highway 13 overpass, but caused several more collisions, ultimately involving more than 100 vehicles.
By the way, this happened on the very first day of spring. Ain't Alberta weather wonderful?

Ride safe. Avoid the white crap.

Thats my setup for when I worked out in the minus 40's out in the oil patch in Alberta. Keeps a guy warm all right, without it sometimes ya get pretty chilly!

I checked out some of those pictures from that accident in alberta yesterday, pure insanity.

I might be nuts, but Im placing some hope in the weatherman's forecast this week. Long range for Oakville is looking like theres gonna be a week of riding weather coming up!

Anything around 7 or 8C, and the bike will be out. Not nearly as brave as that guy I saw on the DR in Streetsville at least once a week all winter long. If you're on here - you're a crazy man!

Its gonna happen, right? right??? Its gonna warm up finally... right???

I'm leaving next Friday for Alberta. Going stateside, hope the weather is better south. Going south at Chigaco due to the tolls and the weather off the lake.

First ride of the season today in brilliant sunshine here in the Cowichan Valley. I did all the back roads scouting out Pubs, Cafes and Bistros on the Ocean front (Maple Bay, Genoa Bay, Cowichan Bay...). I thought it would be a little bit chilly, but it was actually an ideal riding temperature - the old Beemer loves the cool air. I stopped at the Saltair pub for a pint and lunch - it looks like they're getting ready to set up their outside patio. The roads are clean of any sand due to our mild winter and the buds are on the trees. There's nothing like this kind of a start to another wonderful Vancouver Island riding season.
