Sitting outside the River Valley arena in Grand Bay NB right now having my lunch. I've seen about a half dozen bikes go by in the last 30 minutes.

If I still had every dollar I spent on motorbikes I would be a richer man but a poorer person.

Sometimes for self-abuse I look at our forecast; then the Kamloops forecast; the Penticton forecast; the Calgary forecast; and cry a little bit....

But hey, somebody emailed yesterday wanting a canoe trip down the Yukon River at the start of May. Sorry, buddy, at least Lake LaBerge will still be frozen, and maybe the river too. And some motorcyclists will show up doing the Alaska Highway in May, shivering away. We take comic relief where we can get it. Like crew change at military bases in Alaska - there's the 22 year old serviceman, hot Mustang with summer tires, coming up the highway in November, looking totally WTF.

Oddly, it's often Harleys that show up first in spring, proving they're either tough or can't read a forecast. BMW riders are later, with full electric gear...

Still a good chunk of shore ice here at the bottom end of Lake Huron, north wind is keeping it in the bays and creating a nice little micro climate(Blue Point in the back ground).

OK, it's certain now, Spring has arrived on the prairie.

Today was 10 and sunny with nary a hint of wind. I could hear my
job running into the river. The skiing was truly Spring slush after 11:00.

I gotta remember sunblock and shorts next week.

Beautiful 22 in the Okanagan today. Same for tomorrow.
Can't get far into the hills without hitting enough snow to stop you dead yet though...

Just like sleddin' except without traction. Main roads are great. Frost heaves for jumps where you least expect them.

Emsdale Airport at dusk 3 degrees and lovin every minute of the new season

Although there`s still plenty of snow around here I`m really hopeful we`re done getting new stuff. From my ride yesterday:

18 yesterday; snowing today. Fickle for sure.

But it's already melted off, and I'm not feeling sorry for myself, after spending Easter in Regina. Incredible, how much snow they have.
