LA-Barstow-Vegas?

Anyone in Western Canada headed to the LA-Barstow-Vegas dual sport ride? http://www.labarstowvegas.com/ I have a few friends that want to go but can't enough time off to get there, do the ride and get back home.

I'm thinking about taking the truck and trailer down. Anyone else going?

No!

But it would be a blast. Hope you make it and if so, tells us all about it. Now, if I could just get someone to lend me their 690!

Cory - the LA-B-LV has been on my short list for a while now. Unfortunately this year is not going to be the one I do it. However - I'd definitely be interested in planning to hit it in Nov 2014...

Cheers,
Andy

I'm signed up and getting the parts together to get the bike ready. Should be a good time. My first time but I did ride around Reno offroad a few years ago looking forward to more desert riding.

It's on my list of "would like to do someday" rides too, but this year is also not my year. I drove through from LA to Barstow and Vegas on I15 in April on my way to and from Rawhyde and it looks like it would be an interesting and challenging ride.

I am strongly thinking about doing day two.. Give me a chance for the first longer dual sport ride for my 500 EXC that I am just about finished setting up....

Are you riding down or drive and ride?

Andy and Ed, we'll have to plan something for next year a bit farther in advance.... lots of time to make the Desert 100 happen in April

Yes to the Desert 100 in April! I think I have convinced Swamp Donkey (aka Alan & his 990) to do it too.

Drive down with the missus. Meet up with her at night in town.

Desert 100 is a blast. They run a good event down there. The start is a zoo

Yeah I agree, the event is excellent and very well organized. That start line is total chaos! The dual sport ride was a great time and I raced my F800 in the ADV class. I'll definitely be back again

Getting parts together for the bike. Decided to try michelin deserts front and back.

I'm hoping this business with the US govt doesn't affect the ride by closing areas to ride through.

Deserts would be my choice for sure. I ran them when they were still offered in a 17" rear.

Never thought about the shutdown affecting the ride. It's still 6 weeks away, I imagine things will be sorted by then. The longest in history was only 21 days so 60 would be unlikely
