So WTF.....I cleared every one of the water crossings without even changing out of my boots or getting my feet wet.....and NOBODY got pictures of me.......Burt said I was too quick......

But I got plenty of footage of them......

The only evidence of my success is in this video Mike took......

Thanks Mike......

I totally agree with Walrus and Chabon about this RR being a "rumor mill" RE: CPs I was as close as needed to see and tell but in hind sight just see and learn will be my motto. I have seen some scattered info get inflated to no benefit of any one. It's Mexico, not Detroit or Chicago, THANK YOU, No offense but if you're from DT or CHI I don't blame you for being from.

Walrus,
I am cool with that. I am a fan of Mexico and don't like the State Dept's fear-mongering....and I don't come from that perspective with my query.

Thanks for your reply, attitude about the issue, and especially your RR...

Gracias, hermano...

Finally on to Batopilas, we stopped for coffee, too early for beer and then took the burt shortcut, not a bad road, but we are only averaging about 50-60 miles a day in 6 hrs so about 10 mph, I only ended up in the ditch next to the road once and dropped the DR once, ( I should have been standing) had it up and ready to start again before the next rider got there, nice to have a somewhat light bike. Here is the coffee spot

There is a road out there somewhere, during the last couple of days we saw no traffic, I wonder why?

I think we're on the same page Ged. I see myself as a guest when I leave the USA and since it's their country with their strengths and weaknesses, I try to find the good stuff to appreciate and enjoy. I had to laugh when we were in the small communities and folks would flash me the peace sign before I flashed them. I started early in the ride and word obviously spread. Another chuckle came when different kids in those different small towns would come up and in the same sing song voice tell me "Hello". And then they'd laugh and run away.
