Street tires to 50/50?

I recently bought a pair of shinko 244 as 50/50 tires. I have only ridden my klr 650 with 100% street tires (Pirelli Scorpion) and what i'm wondering is how much of a difference on pavement will the bike handle? I commute on roads under 40 mph and am itching to go off road, will I be upset on the road? Is the increase in dirt performance worth the down graded road? Thanks guys

50/50 tire

It kind of depends on where you live and what off road is like. Here in southern NM there is a lot of sand so I run T63 Michelin, they stick well on asphalt, and last reasonably well. We don't get much rain, but they did great doing Chloride Creek and Monticello Wash a month back at the 2nd Annual Rubber Chicken Rally. Your 244s are know to be squirmy on the pavement, but that depends on how hard you ride. If you don't have much sand or mud the 244s should do alright.

Going from street to more dirt oriented tires you'll feel on pavement dirt tires won;t brake or turn quite as well, and they'll vibrate you a little more.

Allowing for a little slower and a increased braking time/distance and you'll be fine on the street.
