Russ

There is noting like a new bike, except an old bike that has been done up.

Early adopters are the salt of the earth.

Get out there take pix and do a review

The bike before the Red one was grey, I thought it was time for a change, I like the colour it looks better in the flesh, the light grey is a matt finish and the dark grey has a fine sparkle and a gloss finish.
Will look good until I hit the dirt at wee Jasper today

I did not get the extended warranty.
Thoughts on the bike later after a decent ride.

Russ,

Any chance of a detailed run down on the beast. I am seriously considering one. Currently stuck between the F800GS and the new 1200. Did you get one with the lot, fuel consumption, road manners, dirt manners, comfort, buffeting, lights, electronics, yah yah yah. Don't want much do I? Thanks in advance.

Home 2000 Kms later about 600 on dirt.

1st impressions

The new suspension is way better than before.
The weight feels lower and although the bike is heavier it feels lighter.
The motor is fantastic the extra HP works all the way through the power band.
The new clutch/ gearbox are a dream.

I thought the new Tourance Next tyres that it came with would be crap on the dirt they were surprisingly good on relatively easy dirt.
They are fine on dry dirt as a dual sport tyre. No mud on this trip they look like would suck in mud.

On road the bike feels great really stable handles really well.
As a two up dual spot bike or as a touring bike that can do some dirt I think it is great.
Over the next few weeks when I don't have my wife on the back I'll try it on some proper dirt and see how it goes.

I think I have only scratched the surface when it comes to the electronic wizardry, there is a lot to learn
The dash looks like a christmas tree when you turn the bike on.

Some pics from the weekend.
