I remember buying my original Phoenix at Moroso in 2002 at a race after riding down in a white Tshirt. I bought the jacket and actually felt cooler being "in the shade" of the mesh while having the wind blow through it while riding. It didn't take much of a temp drop for me to get chilled wearing the Phoenix. Since then I've never ridden without a jacket.

Exactly, it may seem hot but its actually cooler than letting your skin absorb the radiant heat.

Thus is why I wear my Barbour over it half of the year.

The 2 liners are sometimes a PITA, but for most of my summer riding for the past 2 years, I've riden w/ a Cortech GX Air 2 (I think they're on the 3-series now). Very cool in the summer with the liners out, and good down to about 50 with the wind/waterproof liner and thermal liner in with just a T-shirt. No Hi-vis, but I did get the yellow, and it has good reflectivity for night riding.

One tip - microfiber t-shirts.

+1!!!

The wick away and rapid drying make a huge difference!!! Cold or hot I do the mirco fiber/technical/wick away gear. Layered cold weather stuff for cold riding.....yes I do venture out of south FLA and below 70 is cold I don't care what you say, then just the t-shirts for hot weather!!

Don't know if anyone has already mentioned this but I've had a built blaze for going on three years. In the summer I wear the hell out of it and it has worked well and fits me perfectly. I think I paid 60$ on sale.

My nipples don't even wake up until it's below 55-60.
