Tents

Ok, have had a look on-line and I've found these few tents. Got any suggestions?

the last 1 mate .. same as mine and spankys ... cheap and work well .. easy to put up and no pegs needed ..clips on the outside ...no pinching poles when trying to thread em through

leave ya fly off in summer for a nice breeze ... chuck ya fly on if rain or cold ...and cheap

they do burn well

If you want to try tent v swag, I have both and you are more than welcome to borrow them for a trial..

The swag is a bike swag, so its pretty small.

The tent is a 2 man hiking tent, and I have self inflating mattress for it. I have never used either on the bike, but had them from hiking days. Funny enough, the last time this tent was used was at Maidenwell pub! I lent it to someone else who had no tent.

Needless to say, if I lie on the ground at the moment, I cant get back up!! So they are of no use to me during the next 6 months!

I wont commit to going to Maidenwell at this point, as I am not sure about when my surgery is going to be happening. I certainly wont be riding, but if I can swing it I will drive out for the beer and pig on spit. If I can manage to drive, I am happy to be a support vehicle and cart camping gear for people. I have not been to Maidenwell pub for a good 6 months now, and need a dose of the place.

New Luggage

I just realised that I don't really have any good bike luggage to carry the gear, so I just invested in a set of these.

This should well and truly hold everything I need.

Will add this to my list this week also. http://www.bcf.com.au/online-store/p...om=21202#Cross

If you take Sean's earlier advice, just hit it hard at the pub and you don't need any tent or sleeping gear.

And risk not waking up in the morning, no thanks I want to be able to ride home the next day, but thanks for coming up with another budget idea

I don't plan on exposing mine to any naked flames, so I'll just take your word for it.

It won't be you that you have to worry about.

You may want to invest in some comfortable earplugs too, as the camping area normally sounds like a chainsaw trade show when there is a lot of campers. If you are not a big drinker, the snoring may affect your ability to sleep!!

If they dont keep the fire from the spit roast going, I normally get a good fire cranking so we can sit around and talk shit after the pub closes. They have fire pits and you can normally salvage some leftover timber from the spot they cook the pig on.

Just decided that I am going to drive there provided my op is not the friday beforehand!

If you want a good nights sleep spend the money and get an exped synmat to sleep on, I also carry a thermal liner for the sleeping bag and in fact the last time i used it was staying in the pubroom at Maidenwell as they only give you one blanket and I was freezing, luckily I had packed it as it is small and light.

Cancel all the Orders Wasca, I reckon the KLR Armchair would get one of these to Maidenwell.
