Diagnose my KTM 690

'12 KTM 690 E. The gearbox easily falls into neutral between 4th-5th and 5th-6th. Also it will occasionally stall at low speeds in first because I need to remap my Leo Vince but the engine seizes up around 5 mph as I decelerate... is that normal? The gearbox is so freaking clunky compared to my f800gs... I don't even ride it anymore it's so bad in comparison.

More or less is normal, it happened to me too, but no more, probably I get used to it (and I "geared it down" to 14/48) .
5 mph is 8 km/h? My didn't "run" under 17km/h without clutch.

I tested the 690 and while the gearbox was fine on that one it stalled really easily at low speeds unless you played with the clutch and throttle. It was nothing like a DR400 or DR650 which will just keep on going like a tractor.

Adjust your gear shift lever one notch down, that's why they are adjustable,

The engine seizes up????? What does that mean? Do you mean that the engine stalls or that something mechanical stops the engine? If it is stalling then assuming the throttle position sensor is set within spec you could get a cable and use tune ECU to load a better map into the bike. If you bought the bike new then perhaps return it to the dealer for warranty work if something is really wrong with the gearbox. The gearbox on my 09 has always been fine.

2011 r here
I've burnt a hole in my riding pants, gloves and I have a scar on my hand from brushing up against the nuclear reactor exhaust can. Besides an occasional false neutral between 2nd & 3rd..I've had zero problems with how the bike runs and figure I shouldn't mess with anything.....I say that to say this, do you still have the stock exhaust? Is it still possible to put it back on? Just to see if the problems go away.

Hope you get it figured out, sucks to be disappointed in your new bike/purchase.

When it stalls and i start to decelerate the back tire will lock up completely at around 5 mph. If I use the clutch its fine.

I sense a trip to your dealer in the very near future.

Get the FI remapped and I would ask about the false neutrals. They may even adjust the shift lever for you.

Have you desmogged it yet??

For sure something is not right. If under warranty I would take it to the dealer.

there has to be a point where your forward speed/momentum will not overcome the force required to turn the ebgine over.. 5 mph is low - a quick walk.

mine does it around the same speed.
