UTBDR in late April/early May??

Some friends and I will be doing the UTBDR at the end of April this year. I'm just trying to find out about potential snow pack in the upper elevations. Any locals out there who have first-hand knowledge of the snow pack this year? Thanks in advance.

Luke

We did the UTBDR last year about the same time and got turned around just north of Price, UT by snow pack. That is where the trail starts going up for any length of distance. The southern portion up to Price was great but we also couldn't cross the mountains at Monticello and the LaSal Mtns. at Moab because of snow. Still snowing out there now also.

Yeah, this is kinda what I was thinking. I'm sure it'll be a great ride even if we get turned around by the snow/mud. Thanks for the info.

No doubt about it, you won't get much past Price, and even the mountains down south will probably be still snowed in. Winter lasts until June in the rockies. We just got another foot of snow yesterday. But there is plenty of stuff to ride and explore down south. -al
