What's next, m/c cops on KLRs? Can you say "unmarked milkcrates"?

High Bridge is right in my back yard so, sometimes I just can't resist.

Don't even start me on commenting on how many unmarked Chargers, Pinto's, stage coaches etc I see on Hwy 2.

FWIW, be alert on Lowell-Snohomish Road. I got lit up by a motorcycle Deputy out on the flats, in my car. He mentioned to me that they are running increased patrols on that stretch.

Oh, and I've been given a completely bogus speeding ticket. "90 in a 60" up on Stevens pass! It happens. Out-of-date radar certification -> case dismissed -> huge waste of my time.

If it was at all about safety they would sit right out in the open in plainly marked cars so people would see them and be more aware of their speed. That don't pay the bills though. I haven't seen it yet but it won't suprise me when its proven that they run a scam with a speeding lead car to bate others into following through a targeted area. When money is involved ,people will stoop to any level.

This is true. They could park marked cars and it would cause people to slow down.
I think the locals should put "Speed Trap Of The Week" in the local paper and once in a while patrol where they say they will. Easy peasy, all about the safety and has low/no cost. The paper would probably donate the space.

In Australia some of the radio traffic reports include all the speed traps.
Seems like a good plan to me.

Up until a few years back the WSP was all "to serve and protect".

Then the Governor hired an out-of-towner to run the WSP with the promise that he could make it a profit making agency.
Speeding tickets tripled in a couple of years.

+1

But I will say this: it's been a couple weekends now that I've seen Lacey PD marked cruisers sitting on the side of major streets with their lights on full blast, not pulling anyone over, just sitting there where they would normally be speed-trappin'. Funny thing, no one was speeding. And I'm guessing that any douche that really didn't care and was doing 90 down that road, cops be damned, could cover the other 5 of us getting pulled over for 10 over.

As much as I'm against the nanny state mentality, I must admit as a commercial driver I am really happy to see the increase in enforcement, and have nothing against folks paying voluntary taxes.

The sneakier the better, I want drivers to be paranoid that the WSP is everywhere, keeps them on their toes.

IMO, if you get a ticket, you obviously didn't have the skill to do what you were doing, after all, a traffic cop is just another road hazard..............gotta see them all, or they'll get ya.

On my way to Seattle last week, I saw someone get pulled over in Vancouver by a WA State Trooper driving the Oscar Mayer Weienermobile.

Fuckers.

Has anybody else read the brief linked to on the YT page? Compelling enough to me that I'm going to print and save it 'just in case'. The majority of the WSP unmarked cars I see don't follow the RCW.
Read the brief and post your thoughts.

I saw Tiger Woods last week pull over somebody in WA in an unmarked WSP golf cart.
