This is one solid round hole. He has made a home, and from what I have read is going to be almost impossible to get rid of at this point. I am going to see if I can get him in the morning.

They peck on metal and stone to sharpen there bill, which never stops growing..

I found a cloud of fishing line works well under the eaves.. Keep the dang starlings away too..

Not a woodpecker, but we used to put a mix of cayenne pepper mustard powder and flour around anything that had unwanted wildlife hanging around it. Dunno if woodpeckers'd react the same way, but maybe you can stuff a sock full of that in there for a while.

What would be useful is something that could react to its presence and maybe scare the shit out of it every time it comes.

Well...I'll be damned.

A bunch of other deterrents too, albeit more expensive.

This one's just funny.

I found that yesterday too Driveshaft. It is pretty funny, the only thing is getting up high enough to mount the damn thing. I would vinyl side the house I am in, but right now I am saving to buy a new house and am trying to put all my extra dough towards that.

He was a no show this morning before I went to work, maybe he will be around this evening when I get home.
