Post this question up on my2wheels.com, you'll get better answers.

A lot of the route is indian reservations and military areas that are closed.

Closures

Don't worry Dirty T, none of the options anyone gave you crosses any closed reservations, military or Native American. If you try renogeorges route through Belmont, don't try Kingston Canyon over into Big Creek. The Toiyabe Range got some decent snow and the north faces on the Big Creek side probably won't be much fun in two weeks....later in the summer would be fine. Just hit US50 and cruise through Austin and then continue west to Reno.

Kingston snow

Good point on avoiding Kingston this time of year. Great Summer/Fall ride-not so good Spring/Winter.

Death Valley also a good optin this time of year. Get off 95 at Beatty.

Thanks, everyone, for the ideas and suggestions. I ended up sticking with pavement so I could put the miles down and get home in two days. Did 400 first day and 530 second, got home Sunday evening. Will be posting a ride report up shortly in that forum with pix.

Short version:

Rte 89 N out of Prescott to I40 for a couple miles, then onto Rte 66, through Seligman to Kingman. Love the Mother Road!

US93 North to LV, and kept going North up into the desert, took a left on Rte 375, the ET highway. Overnight in Rachel. Then across 6 to Tonopah,
US(5 to Yerington, drop down 208 to Topaz, up Monitor Pass on 89 to US50 and home.

OK - just one pic:

Like I say, will provide details and pix over on other forum. Tip-o-the-hat to RJNUTT for suggesting the route up ET - wouldn't have spotted that! Great ride!
