That pretty much sums it up for me. I'm considering putting that in my sig line.

Why we ride

Dakez hit the nail on the head: “I ride because it's fun.” I’ve been riding for a long time and started out on a ’64 Sears Moped I bought new. When I got back from Vietnam in ’70, I figured, “Well, that didn’t kill me. Let start racing motorcycles.” Somewhere along the way, I figured out why dogs like to hang their heads out of the car window. Here’s a video that kind of sums it up . . . at least for me, anyway: http://vimeo.com/49445992

I ride because the bike is too damn heavy to carry. But seriously, folks...

Enjoyed the video - and it captures some of the magic. Classic 'boy and his motorcycle' flick.

Fits the budget and more fun

The melodrama is way over the top for this dry Kiwi.

I've been getting around on two wheels since the mid '60s because it fits my budget. I have seldom owned a car, and rented one just three times in the past ten years.

Paying cash for a modest motorcycle that is cheap as chips to run sure beats paying off a gas-guzzling behemoth, to my humble way of thinking.

Beside that........ motorcycling is way more fun.

Every man dies, not every man lives.

Now Kurt Caselli has lived more than most of us combined.....

I've always said since I started racing that you live more in 5 minutes of a race than you do in about a week of normal life
