Yeah we were talking about Burma on the ride back. That is a fun road for sure. Looks like we were a few hours behind you and nutty up to talkeetna.

Ya I've got some ugly pictures of Burma Road I was the first fool to run that thing in 2010, two weeks prior to me riding it Keith from the TMS was running snow machines on the road. There is no cell connections on that stretch of road

Wait until it dries out a bit

Spring riding heads up:

Watch out for ice on the otherwise clear roads when you go under an overpass! Minnesota under Dimond for example. Don't be in the middle of your lane and hit that strip of ice that is still there!

Not a good idea to ride in middle anyway in the summer your riding in a oil mixture. And right now probably like AlaskanSolstice said ice

Be careful out there

Cool2

Yayayayayayayayayaya !!!!!!

Hey this Wednesday , the 24th ..

I'm thinking a ride out to Eureka... !

Anyone wants to join. ? :) most likely going to be the whole day. Starting around 10-11 am.

I think it would also be a good ride for me to saddle bag and load up the bike to test ,adjust and make sure everything works good for upcoming trips.

A friend from work (who lurks here) on his KLR and I took a run up to Hatchers today. Great day for a ride! A little chilly while in motion, but very warm when stopped, even up by the A-Frame. The roads were mostly dry but I did notice a remaining ice hump down by the curves in the shadows. Lots of sand and gravel as well.

First out of town ride of the season for me!

I was out for my first ride since 10-08. Girdwood to mid-Huffman against the going to the slush cup traffic. Shakedown cruise with minimal north bound traffic. Nice! A buddy took me to see his new to him boat and we stopped at WeeBees. I saw a group of maybe 30 bikes on O'Malley. The ride south against the return slush cup traffic was nice and I saw a decent size group of sport bikes back in Girdwood heading out.

What a great day! MotoGP live this morning, first ride in the afternoon, BLTs and a growler of IPA for the evening while watching videos shot today, and live racing tomorrow!

The lodge at eureka is closed on Monday. The parking lot is slick but the pie is good. Just up the hill from the chickaloon turn off is a new section of road that is half gravel so be mindful. Shaded area on caribou is a little slick.

I think I passed you guys on your way down. It was really busy at the top

I saw a lot of bikes out yesterday. Mostly BMWs and KLRs with the occasional Harley.

Kelly and I went to portage and girdwood today and misc stops around anchorage. Managed to get in 225 miles and one snow storm. Hope everyone had a great safe weekend. I'm heading back to prudhoe for my last hitch of the season. Snow should be gone by the time I get back.
