Went for a quickie tonight!

I went for my first ride of the season tonight. Since the wind was blowing so hard, I mainly cruised around on some of the main thoroughfares in town. Then I got brave and got out on the Glenn Hwy, heading home. Sheesh - those strong wind gusts blew my lightweight bike all over the place! I guess I'll have to put my saddlebags on the bike and fill them up with heavy weight. Oh Maggie - where are you????

I'm going on a longer ride tomorrow, but if the winds are still this strong I may have to just ride circles in town, practicing to go snowshoeing with AlcanRider who likes to go in circles.

This is a warning. I'll probably head north tomorrow, up towards Willow, stopping to eat at the Cadillac Cafe outside of Wasilla. I'm not sure how long I'll ride as I want to spend a couple hours spring skiing tomorrow, soaking up more Vitamin D, wearing as few layers as possible!

Riding season is here - YAHOO!!!!!

Are you the fellow that he is working on the plane with?

Be careful when that ice jam breaks, there is a ton of sand on the road

Well we're getting the rain now and it's definitely helping out. There's still over a foot of snow out here but I think this rain is going to kick old man winter in the butt and finally send him packing. We are weeks behind from the norm. If the weather fortune tellers are right, Sunday should be good and it will be time to roll!

Yep, that's me you got at the 55 mark in your video. Good times.

It was my first ride down the Arm this year. Turned around at the construction near Girdwood and followed the sportbikes back into town. Very glad they all behaved themselves the whole way in.

Some other group of sportbikes had a mishap earlier tho when a guy crashed his beautiful new red/blk/white Ducati 848 EVO Corsa Special Edition. He's okay but broke some bones that may require surgery. And no, I don't know him other than his name is Ron.

Thanks for sharing another video. To continuing good times, Mark H.

Question Hmmmm where to ..?!

This Saturday, debating on Seward ride, or Another Eureka day ride.

Fairbanks sounds good too, but I'll have to make that a two day trip , coming back Sunday.

OR SHALL one attempt an 1k mile IBA run.

Wonder what's the condition on Richardson hwy ..??

Seward - good roads

We rode to Seward two weekends in a row, including this past Sunday after Saturday's snowstorm, and the highway was dry and in good condition both times. The scenery is gorgeous with snow still covering the mountains along the entire route. Plus, we got treated to a free lunch with some friendly, handsome guys both times we went. It's hard to beat that!

AlcanRider said they got 2' of heavy, wet snow in Slana. I wonder if he said that just so I won't consider riding up there to visit and pester him????

We're riding up to Talkeetna for lunch on Saturday, leaving at 10-ish from the Muldoon Fred Meyers in case anybody wants to join us. (weather dependent, of course....)

Sounds reasonable, plausible and astute on Jack's part.

I've made up my mind...Sunday morning, weather permitting I'm gonna head South to either Seward or Homer. I'll decide when I get to the intersection.

If anyone who I don't know is interested, I'll be leaving My house in Wasilla at 7:30. If ya wanna ride, we can meet at the Shell station at the end of Fairview Loop at 7:45. Done!

If you do Homer on Sunday , are you planning to stay the night or head back.?

I'd definitely ride back. Weather is calling for rain in Seward and Homer, but I don't believe it. Haha, I'm still going, barring anything major...like a snowstorm or something.

Going towards Seward and Homer

Nutty and Steve907AK

Keep a eye out for a traveler friend of mine that has been staying with me. He is driving a orange Ural so he's travelling at Ural speed

His name is Dom and he rode up from Colorado, he going to Seward and Homer but he hasn't made up his mind until he reaches the intersection. I expect him back up in Wasilla in a week or so

Nutty this is the guy that is using his phone for gps he said that they don't have any maps for Canada but there is only one road you have to worry about, pretty hard to get lost
