which water pump

Age old question, go with the CJ Desighns or KTM Twins water pump kit? Any pros or cons out there?

I went with the CJ Designs shaft. It's obviously more expensive, but I just viewed it as good insurance. Three-year, 36K mile guarantee means that I shouldn't have to go back in to do this job again for at least three years. Worth it.

Here's my old one:

The prior owner of my bike said it was changed when I bought the bike w/ 24K miles on it. I changed that shaft at 34K miles. I think it was original.

Mine got kaput at 80k kms, so it is possible your PO had no clue. Especially if he is not reading OC.
Cheers.

Any Metallurgists Out There ?

Any metallurgists out there in the tribe?

Can anyone identify what would have caused this within 700 miles?

Just interested to know that is all.
