Hey guys! Just thought I would pop on here and say a mega thank you to everyone who has already helped out, very unexpected but oh so helpful! I have been saving for finke for about 10 months now and a little extra diesel money makes it a little less stressful.

Knowing I have so many people behind me actually makes it a little less daunting! It's very scary committing to such a big event but it's going to be an absolute hoot. I am lucky I have had great technical and mechanical support in training and bike set up so far so...bring it on!

For those of you coming along on the ride, can't wait to meet you all, never feel pressured to donate but if you do its very appreciated.

Rock on hope you all had a great weekend riding like I did :)

Mel

No vid... Because i didn't have the gopro on and no one was nearby I cartwheeled the bike 20 metres down the track. Must remember not to leave the camera ever!

I did mx practice at kennilworth and then sunday was sand practice up near rainbow. Hopefully my neck settles down before thursday for more sand practice yippee.

I've really only been on a moto-x track once, and that was on my DRZ!
I got through 6 laps, and was so buggered I ended up riding off the side of the big jump.

ride whoops. the biggest you can find and as long as you can.finke has about 60kms of it. grabbo apparently used to stiffen out the suspension and ride for practice so the body gets used to the punishment (read it somewhere)
are you prerunning finke? if you can do it as much as possible to get used to the track and dial the suspension for the event. otherwise you get a single sighting run a few days before the event which is not enough.

Will be out there a week prior for prerunning, best i can do. As for the whoops, besides anything at an mx track no one seems to know of any of any decent size around here unless you have any suggestions?

Have you been out to Gheerulla Mel. Their are secitons that have small woops in tight spaces. You can just keep doing loops of the area as most is one way and about 36km long. Just a thought.

Hi I reside in WA so can't help with whoop suggestions in qld.lol.even 36 km if whoops as suggested by chop chop can help u r training. just ride them without a break as much as you can to hone u r body and mind.its mental 230 km to finke 230 return.guys Like grabbo train days at an end on the finke track.after the first win grabbo could hardly walk as u r on the pegs and legs get a workout. plan u r training around a long relentless race.end if the day JTS giving u r best that counts. enjoy the training and the race!

Hey Strummer

You're going to have to correct the name list a little. The "mothership" has been traded in for a near new Suzuki DR-Z400E.

If my ankle is up to it I should be still coming.
