Melbourne riders, we should organize a day ride before the safari

For sure... work just got manic for the next couple of weeks, but I think there is a free one maybe 1-2 June.... stay tuned, work plans are updated hourly at the moment :)
How does Toolangi sound, some easy tracks to warm up on? Or we can go further afield.

Did you get one of the GSA's too?
I saw you posted a pic on Craigs May HIgh Country ride...

I've already gone thru 2 rear knobbies on mine and it;s only 5 months old... trying some road tyres at the moment.

Might be worth an email to the mashine, see what they think before it gets too late and let everyone know so they can be confident that it has been sorted.

Cool, I reckon there might be a bit of a mix of skills, so first one will need to be real easy.

Confidence building answer. There are still a lot of tracks out there without using the seasonally closed ones.

That's what I figured... still looking forward to the trip :)

Also it might turn out to be a clever move... theoretically the tracks may be free(er) from the mobs of fourbys that appear when the tracks are open!

Might be a bit late to get any snow though.. that could pose some fun :)

Maybe they have arranged with Parks VIC to open the gates for us a little early?

We can only hope.

I like your wit!
Even if it was open track season, PV would probably lock the gates again if they knew 200 motos were doing an organised commercial ride. Don't you know that National Parks are for critters, not people.
I think, for the money, you would wan't to do more than hope.

Rider Training

It was $495 last year.

This is from 2012... hopefully the details won't be too much different this year. Obviously the pricing will come out closer to the dates....
Rider Training

Join the Stay Upright team for two days to ensure you are fully prepared for the GS Safari. They take time to offer one on one feedback with all activities and you will be surprised what you and your BMW are capable of!
Some of the activities covered in the course include:
  • Bike set up
  • How to pick up a Bike
  • Posture
  • foot peg pressure
  • weight shift
  • Throttle and clutch control
  • Cornering
  • Braking
  • Ascending and Descending Hills
  • Riding over obstacles

Cost Cost for the training will be $495 per person and includes lunch on both days.
I did the rider training days last year at Yamba and can highly recommend it to anyone. Even the experienced guys. I`ve been riding dirt for over 40 years and I got so much out of the course. I`m riding so much better now.
Best $500 I`ve ever spent :)
