Short jaunt through Wyoming outback

Moved from Alaska to Wyoming last summer. Hadn't really taken the little scoot out much. Finally went on a decent ride for the first time this spring. Not too impressive but 90 miles of dirt and 90 highway is a start.

I almost forgot how great it is to have a dirt bike in WY. Waaaay better than the Kenai Peninsula for off road riding. Err, less challenging.

Having trouble uploading pics. I'll try later.

OK. You forced me out of 'lurk' status. Waiting on pics of your ride.

Trying to figure out where your riding pics are from:
Pinedale/Jonah Field area? Or Big Horn Basin?

Welcome to WY. I believe June 15 is when OHV trails open in most of the National Forests (its been a while since I've been in the mountains riding). If you're still feeling kinda new to the area, check out the trails around Lander, trails west of Sheridan, and there is a bucket load of trails in the Big Horn Basin (BLM land almost exclusively). Not too familiar the further south you go (Laramie, Rock Springs, etc), but you'd be within spitting distance of some nice riding in Northern Colorado. Have you thought of going to Killpecker Sand Dunes?

Anyhow, have fun out there and keep the camera shutter open!

Went from Rock Springs past but not into the dunes, through Freighter Gap, down to Hwy 28 (South Pass Hwy), into Farson and back to Rock Springs.

Rode from Pinedale to Rawlins through the Basin on the CDR back in '07. That part of WY is spectacular! I am jealous, and want to go back.

Wyoming is a very photogenic state. Riding in the wind makes ya tougher too.
