Yeah, at 8:30 we should be at the Maple Springs gate at the start of the trail from the OC side.

Gonna be warm so make sure you have water!

If you can't make this Saturday I might ride next weekend - should be a total noob ride (of course, I've ridden very few roads around here soooo it could always be a yipes, run away, run away!!! ride and off to a different road) I'll post soon if I can

I'll have my GoPro on, so crash in front of me if you don't want it documented.
Confirmed for OC side:

1. BrokenDownXR- XR600
2. BurnOil- Super Tenere
3. ?
4. ?
5. ?
I know the OC group will be heading up from Silverado Canyon "Maple Springs" gate and I'm sure others wanting to go live on the other side of the Santa Ana mountain range: http://www.meetup.com/Enduro/events/118383642/

I'll be coming up from the Corona "Inland Empire" side. Meeting at Tiki Harbor (formerly Chronic Tacos Cantina) just off 91 frwy and Lincoln Ave at 8 am and departing for trail by 8:30 am SHARP. Have about 4-5 other joining me there now with many more welcome. It will be HOT from 10am on so lets hope for morning clouds like we saw today.

Had 32 + riders show up last weekend as temp stayed in the low 70s all day long. A bit dusty but everyone looked to have a great time up in the forest: http://www.meetup.com/SoCalOffRoadTr...ents/98326152/

CNF Maps

Just picked up a Cleveland Nat'l Forest Map. For some reason they had a bunch of them here in Big Bear FS center marked down to $2.00. Nobody could tell me why, my guess is that there may be a new version coming out, this one is 2006.

If anybody going on this ride tomorrow would like one, I'll offer to pick up one or more and bring them along - gotta know by 4:00 today though as the place closes at 4:30.

Santiago Peak ride

Whew! I had a good time today - just took an aleve
The road was harder than I thought, it was a good challenge for me, moderate to really easy for everybody else. I wouldn't call it a noob friendly big bike road ( for true noobs), but we had some bigger bikes (including one who was on the dirt for the first time) and they did great.

I found it to be a good small bike noob route, some definite challenges with bits of easy road between.

I held up the group through my putputting, I'm glad they took off before we reached the peak. Berndt was great and rode with me to the peak and then down Indian TT (definitely big bike friendly)
Nice day, thanks Berndt!
