The car driver is an ahole alright, but the inconsiderate folks that thought up this ride are far worse.

Do the event but keep your group in the right lane, it is a four lane highway for a reason.

So a group of motorcycles causing an inconvenience is WORSE than someone nearly killing people due simply to impatience?

It is a generic term, like toilet paper or Kleenex!

Looks like a bunch of idiots on sport bikes to me with no consideration given to others using the road. Everyone is to fault here.
I didn't see any cruisers in that vid but they were riding as if they were on them.

Originally it read "Damn Slow-Assed BMW group..." but that title was as inspiring and interesting as the bikes themselves sooooo....

So if I annoy you and/or inconvenience you and you pull out a Walther PPK then proceed to fire a few rounds at me it is my fault ? Good to know...

Well I saw mostly metric bikes in the video....

I'm actually a road captain for a rider group (I'm a little embarrassed to admit)....I didn't want it but figured I could keep things in line and safe working from the inside. One thing that I tell the guards is stay in the right lane and let traffic by. Safety for everyone is the number one concern for me. I also have radio communications with the guards including chase vehicle to warn us of any potential problems and will let vehicles through etc.

I don't care what the bikers were doing, the Volvo driver is a major asshat and should be prosecuted. I don't think they should have been filling up both lanes like that unless LEO told them too....the video says there was an escort which makes the Volvo driver even a bigger idiot.

why cause the inconvenience in the first place? This is the sort of shit that makes most cagers hate us, why create the bad vibe?

When I am pulling my travel trailer with the truck, I stay in the right lane and where it is two lane, if I see traffic building up behind, I pull over and let them by.

Basic courtesy and if we riders want it, we need to show it.

I do not agree that vehicular homicide or creating events that could lead to such a tragedy is reasonable recourse for feeling slighted.

No it is NOT, however the asshatery of the squido's is ridiculous as well. They could, SHOULD, have stayed in the left lane.

And as I already stated, the car driver is an ahole........but that doesn't change the fact that better manners and consideration by the group of riders would have prevented the risk.

Even on my bike, which I like to ride briskly, I have been stuck behind formations of group bikers, a dozen to hundreds, who travel in a manner (on normal two lane) that makes it damned hard to pass, for fellow bikers or anyone.

Ignorant and unsafe for all.

Afraid we will agree to disagree.

People need to just relax in general, I've been stuck behind plenty of rolling road blocks....sometimes its bikes sometimes its trucks or buses and sometimes in cars its annoying no matter what the cause....the bottom line is its not worth risking your life or someone else's to get by.

Its easier to pull over and wait or find another route.....Motorcycling is suppose to be fun and if your getting all wound up and enraged by traffic your doing it wrong...

I agree that it would be nice if all people showed common courtesy, riders included but it simply isn't human nature to do so from what I have seen with regards to societal behavioral patterns. Being inconsiderate is not grounds for someone to nearly kill you or endanger your life nor should it be. People like the one/s in the Volvo are far more detrimental to a decent society than any inconvenience causing group of riders.

i don't think anyone here is saying the volvo driver was reasonable. They are saying that by riding in a rolling roadblock like the motorcycles were doing, actions like the volvo driver took, while unreasonable, are foreseeable.

When you're inconveniencing the rest of the public for no reason, someone is going to get pissed off. Once they are pissed off, you have no idea how they are going to respond. It's sorta stupid to willfully piss people off and at the same time, expect those pissed off people to respond in an expected and polite way.
