I am just curious......

Does anyone know if the BRC has done any work in the state of Colorado or spent a dollar on the fight to keep our trails open?

I hear that they are out there doing some good work in areas of the country, but in regard to the last half dozen fights in Colorado over the last three years, I am not aware that they have been involved at all.

I would like for someone to correct my perception if I am wrong. And I really mean that.

I will be one that is determined to put my money and the contributions of RMAR to the organizations that are truly fighting the fight. Of course the TPA and COHVCO are at the top of the list, but Stay the Trail is also a great organization, as are phenomenal trail clubs like CMTRA.

I am not trying to derail this thread, but if someone is paying to attend the Moose Run, they ought to know where their money is going. And if every dime given to the BRC is leaving our state.....that is an issue.

By the way, I heard from a riding friend that the Moose Run is an outstanding ride!!!!!!

All these 'runs' to keep track of.

Maybe we could combine the Moose and the Dinosaur

As a matter of fact, yes. They are throwing big $$ into several Colorado issues, including the Rico issue.

Thanks for putting this together Jeff. I think most access issues are so closely related that a win in another state can be used to set a precedent here in Colorado (see NMs current legal battle and what the implications of a win could mean here with BLM and FS policies), and very few of our battles are the result of local groups. To me it seems nationally backed organizations and special interest groups are the ones funding, or at least spearheading, many of the problems we see in Colorado. I think it is nice to see a diversity of open access support and think the BRC is a worthwile orginization to support

Glad to see them getting behind the Moose Run this year.

I don't even question my annual dues/contributions to AMA, COHVCO, TPA, BRC. It's just the right thing to do and costs about as much as a new tire.

We'll be there in August.

Yes, I stand corrected.

Two other sources confirmed the BRC's partnership with the TPC and COHVCO on the Dolores/Rico Law Suite....which is over.....we won.

I was also informed that Brian Hawthorne of the BRC is also helping with the issues around Grand Junction.

Yes. I have worked with Brian since his days with USA-All. He is a dedicated 2 wheel enthusiast.
