PHX - Dual Sport Trail Talk Ride - Saturday April 20th

Big bike friendly ride on 7 Springs and Bloody Basin roads with Jeff from Arizona State Parks.

We will be meeting on Saturday April 20th at the McDonalds at Tatum and Cave Creek road at 8:00 AM. That should give you enough time to grab a snack and hit the restroom.

We will be leaving McDonalds at 8:30 and heading up 7 Springs Road and Bloody Basin Road. Jeff will giving Trail Talks at a number of stops along the way.

Once at I-17 I will be returning to Phoenix via some more easy dirt roads through Bumble Bee and Black Canyon City. Anyone wanting to make a whole day out of the event can continue to Crown King. Anyone short on time can just hightail it back to Phoenix on I-17.

This will be a great ride for those new to Adventure riding with a desire to learn more about Arizona's rich history! All the dirt roads on this route are bladed and graded and generally kept in good condition.

Somebody take notes! I'm curious about the history of those areas.

If you take Maggie Mine Rd. there are some spots that can be surprising at speed. It's not that rough or technical, it just has some "gotcha" spots if you're not careful. We ended up hitting a big hole while riding 2-up a couple weeks ago and really bottomed the 990 hard.

It's possible that I could make this ride. Always interesting to hear the history of the areas we ride. Looking for the parts to come in and then get the bike running. I hope I remember how to put it all back together...........

I will plan on this as well but might take a side trip to Sheeps bridge at the fork.

Any optional NS side loops planned?

I'd be there if I wasn't here! One of my favorite easy day ds loops when I was in the valley.

Interested

I have been lurking for a couple months and would now like to join in on a ride. What is the estimated mileage from the start of seven springs road to I-17
Thanks!

I might make this. I probably will go over sheeps crossing bridge an horseshoe dam. I have a 120 mile max range and my 250 L and I am not a fan of the interstate.

Hey Terry.
You mind if I come along and run in the back with my truck? I promise not to run anyone over.

Is this just a show up thing? Made some changes to the bike and need something close to try it out on... Maybe in...
