Hey RD, do you use brett to make your kriek? I've never used wild yeasties before. I've always been afraid of cross contamination. Sorry to turn this into a homebrew thread.

It will be October, is it too late to start a marzen?

This is my first kriek. I actually used a wyeast, but it is taking off very slowly. I'm quite concerned about it.

Sent from the voices in my head and transcribed by their drinking buddy...

OK, here's some cool news. It looks like I will be able to make it AND Blasting Elf will be with me. This is not for certain yet. She wants to get more riding in this summer before she commits to a ride of this distance, but she is thinking she will be able to handle it.

If you have vacation, just take an extra day.

Eh?

Well I hope they have these barricaded sections fixed up by October.
There are at least three of these in the immediate area of the Nottarally. I will see if I can remember my camera today so I can take pictures of the other two. (Guntertown Road is even uglier than this one). I was told that the Madison County Highway department is hiring, just in case any of you need a job.

Maybe there will be even more more of these now because it rained hard again yesterday.

Looks like drinking will be safer than riding. This is the wettest summer ever recorded around here. I'm surprised our roads aren't washed out like those. The rafting companies are running the Watauga River now. Normally only the kayaks can run it after a good rain.
