North Berwick to Fryeburg Dual Sport Ride "2013"

Well its that time again folks, Despite the last failed attemp, lets do it again!

Remember this is a follow the leader kinda ride, I have no maps to hand out or anything like that. We wait for the guy behind you so there's no lost bike's out there. There can be alot of waiting, you just never know.

Date Saturday MAY 4th, Rain date Sunday May 5th

Meet at Noble High School, Rt 9 North Berwick Maine

Kick stands up at 9am,
First leg to West Newfield is about 45miles, about 2.5 hrs give or take. Expect everything on this part, from single track, tight and technical, mudd, water, its all there, rocky river crossings, Not as bad as it sounds but its not gonna be easy either. Leave Panniers Home!!
Here is a map of the intended route.
https://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msid...f41ca5e8&msa=0

Lunch again at my house in West Newfeild, about half way to Fryeburg. I will supply food and drink like last year.

Second leg from West Newfiled to Fryeburg is about 50 miles. This part will be much easier with some fantastic dirt roads with great scenic veiws.
Here is the map of the second leg, there will be a re-route not shown on this map but I'm going to do away with a very nasty hill climb up near Eaton N.H. It will make it much more enjoyable.
https://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msid...30009,1.352692

The third leg is the Quickest route from Fryeburg back to Noble, I have not mapped it out yet but there will be some dirt roads and some really cool twisty back roads, so the ride back wont be boring but easy.
Here's the third leg map

This an unorganized ride, Ride at your own Risk!

Here's some photo's of what to expect

Went through all of it with no problems on a Dr650. Water levels have gone way down.Just below the airbox!

Not sure if I'm off for the weekend but if I am, I'm in. I'll know my schedule in the next couple days and let you know for sure. Will a Tiger 800xc be OK for the route? How much damage can be expected?

It's great to see you guys doing it again this year and I look forward to meeting everyone. Thx

Epic Berwick to Fryeburg Ride

Wade,

Great to hear you're in good shape after last year's get-off. Good on ya mate. I don't know if I am going to have to work that day or not quite yet. Love to do the ride if'n I'm not working.

As I mentioned last year, my house is actually on the northern end of the route. I am 2.5 miles west of the State Line Store/Gas Station at Fryeburg/Conway. As you leave the State Line Store (if you are heading west, don't know which direction you do the upper loop) on US 302, 2 miles later you bear left onto the Old Mill Road. My house is a half mile down that road. If you need a hand with anything (tools, air compressor, baling wire, bungy cord, you name it) just pull on in. Number 242 on the cedar post.

Glad to see you're doing this again Wade - this is an awesome ride. Not sure I'm going to make it this time though - I've got a couple other things in the works, but maybe . . .

I rode the southern half of this a couple days ago from Noble up to 110. You may be aware of this already, but there's a couple short sections on the route that are closed at the moment.

This sign is posted where the route splits off Ridlon Rd. Closed until 5/15/13.

I found this where the route heads into the woods off Diamond Hill Rd.

The puddles on Lord Rd are as deep as I've ever seen them . . . and deep mud too. I'm sure it'll be all dried out by ride time.

Hebo Hybo is a little wet right now too . . . just enough to make it interesting.

That trail closing off Diamond Hill is a big bummer! I was afraid of some of that. And no I haven't been out yet. Put a new rear tire on tonight and was gonna go out scouting sunday.
