Nothing, but I could make some shit up about the metaphorical potential of the expectations we have of our bike's performance and our own capability and how all the ads hype up our machines endless potential but if in the hero momement if it (bad tire choice, crap suspention, poor fueling) or we (to many beer the night before, assumed skill, inability to foresee consequence) fail we our left feeling unfullfilled, we expect more from both.

Don't like the thread don't waste your time posting in it and keeping it alive. Wasn't aware that posts in the Canadian forum had to be one dimensional and that we couldn't open up a discussion that if kept civil and on point didn't need to be in the basement.

I hate that I agree with you

It's Canadian, it's civil, and it's rebellious... not 1% rebellious, but still, mildly subversive. So why move it... BTW I agree that heads that hold those two conflicting thoughts (against bullying while for attack ads) should explode under the pressure of cognitive dissonance.

Hate...such a strong word
I did get a "we appreciate your feedback and will respond shortly" from the PMO. Wonder what they will say if anything.

the B C Liberal ads attacking the NDP are pathetic.
their logic is puzzling, to say the least.
pandering to idiots.
unfortunately there seems to be no shortage of idiots

Without the attack ads the blatant lies would be left unchecked. Its not the attack ads that should be banned...just some sort of control....but who would control that?

Without attack ads would most Canadians realize that young Trudeaus most relevant experience was as a camp counselor

(Warning more gas than my GSA holds to follow)

But what is relevant experience when it comes to being a politician? There is no professional association or accreditation, test or job description with measurable performance indicators. I guess an ethics committee would be about as close as we get? Maybe a professional association is something that should exisit, like lawyers, doctors or engineers but then falling out with the association would mean you could no longer be a practicing politician and that undermines the voting public's say. As far as relevent traits, I think a will to do the job, ability to develop a coherent vision that is both achievable and addresses an issue or creates an opportunity, the ability to think critically, build concensus and the courage to act, these are what I would see as the basic tools. Toss in integrity, as a given, and dedication and loyalty to Canada to round things out.

Shipwrek, I would but it was posted via the PMs web site. The gist of it reflects what I've said here. I spoke about the disconnect of denouncing bullying on one hand then demonstrating that very behaviour on the other. That as a citizen I expect more of those who have the honour to serve Canadians and have the opportunity to provide their vision and leadership to direct the national resources and collective will of this country. Also as a soldier who is held to a high standard I want those who are the embodiement of the civilian authority over the military to not only exercise the vested and legal authority to direct my actions but to also have the moral authority and credibilitly to do it, particularly when that authority is exercised by sending soldiers into the fray.

Just my POV but I can imagine any group or individual might feel the same when it really comes down to it given the gov't has the ability to influance so much of our lives. I think the smoke an mirrors arguement is probably quite true. Keep the public focused on easy sound bites, false drama and keep us entertained with political wrangleing and we'll vote our entertained conscience. My theory is we are fat dumb and happy so really are not overly interested in the political issues as we are not really effected by in large by the decisions taken on our behalf. There is little hardship to unify us as citizens resulting in us demanding more.

Valid points but IMHO I vote for the head.

I mean really lets have a look at what we have dealt with lately...

Trudeaus weird face
Mulroneys freakish chin
Harpers weird eyes

And now what? A head with hippy hair?

My vote will be going to whoever has the more normal looking head

You don't actually think it's the guy at the top who makes all the decissions do you? He is there just to be a puppet for the people who are really in charge.
