Eliminate the CRTC and say goodbye to all Canadian programming too. Cbc is an entirely different animal than a network with interest of ONE political party like the Sun Media one.

Only Hugo Chavez was able to pull that one off. He rapped, danced....quite the variety show

Mr. Socialist,
The CBC is entirely different. It take tax payers money. There is enough media choice. If you like the CBC the. Watch it. It will make money from ads like every other station.

I like the fact that the other side is so pissed at them they are trying their level best to get Rob forced out at every turn and fail it's almost entertainment! Is he actually saving the city of Toronto money or is it a shell game?

I never said I don't have an opinion or I do not like speaking on political matters. What I said was I come to ADV to dream about riding.
As for the CRTC, all they do is eliminate competition.Big business loves government intervention it pushes out the small providers.Get rid of the crtc open up the internet for foreighn content and we would never need to look back.

If the CRTC had their way they would like to control the internet as well.

As far as I can see Rob Ford's biggest issue is that he isn't part of the elite old-boys network of Politicians and doesn't play by their rules. He is rough, unrefined and basically a real guy. This pisses off the establishment tremendously and I love that he keeps winning against them. I would vote for him in a heartbeat if I had the misfortune of living in Toronto.

OMG, did you need to bring these tea party platitudes into this?
I don't usually feed the troll but -
1- Canadians don't look to legislate the poor into prosperity, just extend a safety net so people don't lose their human dignity just because they lost their job. In the process, we don't legislate any rich out of prosperity. Tax the rich and we're still rich.
2 - Can be restated as "When one person is in need, someone with excess helps out" Nothing wrong with that.
3 - can be restated as "Someone needs to make sure the excesses get to the right people, let's get professionals do it"
4 - Can be restated as "Life is a zero sum game." Let's make sure the game is not rigged in favor of those who get a head start.
5 - Is a clear misunderstanding of human nature. Poor people do not want to be poor. People don't generally see paying taxes as unfair or onerous. we don't necessarily like it but we understand that it comes with the territory - the Canadian territory.

Facile slogans don't hide deeper truths, they're an attempt to mask a failure to realize that some are born with above average advantages and/or opportunities, and others are born, through no fault of their own with below average abilities and/or opportunities. The lucky ones have a duty to the unlucky ones. Too many right wingers make the mistake of thinking that they hit a triple when in fact they were born on third base (credit Barry Switzer).

As for the CRTC, people can disagree on how much regulation a free market needs, but nobody seriously thinks there should be no regulation. The only place where the law of the jungle is appropriate is in fact in the jungle, not in a civilized society. Without the CRTC, cancon would disappear, and soon all Canadians would start thinking like Americans. We love Americans, but we wouldn't want that now, would we?

I'd vote for him also in a heartbeat!!! I can't wait for him to get bored with Toronto and slide into the provincial or federal level of government. You think he's upsetting the barrel of monkeys now...lol, just wait until he gets into the big leagues! Where do I put my X...?
