It's got me rooted why service stations lock their toilets.

I mean are they scared you're going to clean them?

Ain't that the truth, was in Winton western Qld last week. Went to the dunny at the BP, noticed a long piece of fencing wire on the hand basin bench. Anyway walked into cubicle 1, bowl overflowing and full of paper. no problem walked into no 2 same problem as no 1. WTF! Went back out to the counter to enquire as to why and where can i dump ? Got the straight answer i was expecting, "Didn't you use the wire we left in there"

Fortunately a bloke at the pub had a few litres on his ute which we shared an were able to make it to the next fuel.
I've never been back to the BP.

The ampol on the other end of town are always friendly and they are also the local NRMA tow service so if you are ever in trouble out that way they are the ones that are going to come and help you.
I second that. Mate and I were on our road bikes last November and we had the misfortune to fuel up there.
What a grumpy prick that hates the world and everyone in it.
Use the servo down the road and let this arse go broke.

Not Happy Man

Yep i dropped into the servo on my way back from the GP & our mate had the usual complaints about council ,snowy ride being on the same time as the fishing comp, blah blah blah. He then went on to say he has disconnected his air as people were using it & not buying in the shop. What a shame he can,t smell the roses & enjoy passing company. By the way I didn,t need petrol but had a Mars & chocky milk before heading the back way to Camberra

I suppose one of us could buy the joint, it is for sale and the old bugger really needs to retire and go fishing.

there is a little roadhouse between Wilcannia and Cobar, can't remember the name of the place, all that is there is the roadhouse though. It has got to be the "friendliest "roadhouse and operator in Australia. NOT !!

In 07 on the way to Coffs, we called in there in the pissing rain for a coffee and a top up, the bowsers were locked up, the old fella eventually came out, locked the shop, filled 1 bike then re-opened and took the money, he repeated this for all the bikes that needed fuel, need less to say, several of us decided not to re-fuel and just have something to eat. All the time the old fella was serving us he kept up a non stop tirade about dickhead fucking motorcyclists out in the rain.

Once in the shop 1 of the girls asked to use the toilet, his reply in his words, "there's 2 buildings here, the shop and the shitter, this is the bloody shop " the shitter was just that, I reckon that a building site porta loo looked like the crown casino toilets compared to that shitter.

I came back through there in 2010, the same grumpy prick was there with the same attitude, I didn't need fuel but did piss on his "for sale" sign out the front.

I don't understand why someone that has lost there enthusiasm for a customer based business would continue to work in the industry.

That's no way to talk about your relo's,Pete. Mate was out at the isacc river the other day and got bogged in the sand and had to drop the air in his tyres to get out. Snuck up to lotus creek nice and steady, bought 70 bucks worth of overpriced diesel,20 bucks worth of chips and drinks and then the owner cracked the shits when my mate wanted to use the compressor.

Stopped a Adminaby years ago, thought it ordinary then...
I think they see it as controlling costs, old mate has the Mobil? at Lockhart,NSW.
He always said there was bugger all in it...
I would see it as value adding to the customer experience, improving their chances of a return visit.

Short sighted...it might cost him short term, but if it brings more mates back business has to become better...
Locally,I always support the Mobil at Sandy Creek just south of Mackay, even though its small and not always the cheapest.
Why? theres always friendly staff from 3am-8pm,air,water,clean toilets, oils, basic groceries, fresh tucker if you need it.
