Is this the first time MM has actually come down hard on a MotoGP bike? That may still be one of the things standing between him and total dominance. Remember JLo had absolutely stellar first 5 races in the big class in -08, but then he started crashing.

I hope there are some good battles up front, Marquez sure is laying down some fast times and might check out if the other guys don't come up with something for the race.

Split QP will be appreciated by the top riders with the slowest rider (44yr old wild card american mike barnes who I think, according to his bio has won once in 21 years as a pro and then picked up several wins last year in the xr1200 class) nearly 12 sec off the pace. A shame Josh Hayes couldn't be out there on another Yamaha.

I think he's also been faster than Hayden in every test, practice and Q session this year. And beat Nicky in the first race.

As for Rossi, he's sure to finish ahead of Dovi regardless of where either qualifies.

MM does two consecutive lap record laps, best 2.03.021, stays out for one more, does not improve, and he won't have time to get a new tyre in. But he's almost a second clear of the rest

edit. and this remains unbeaten. Pedro got close, though.

QP

MM around the last, long right hand corner was just absurd.

Rossi might do better in the race... but he's certainly not making it easy for himself with qualifying performances like this. 2.4 seconds off the front, 1.4 down on his teammate, and juuuust barely beat Espargaro on a CRT.

Nice pix Brewer. ZigZag was out there yesterday and sent me a shot of him at the finish line. I assume he thought I would enjoy the shot of him more than any of the racer's or their bikes.

Have fun and send more photos.

Pedrosa is the only guy within striking distance of MM. I am sticking with MM for the win tomorrow.

The gaps between riders are rather big.
This is shaping up to be a processional after 2 laps.

DP and JLo both look like they already conceded victory to MM.

Rossi needs to pull a rabbit out of his hat to finish ahead of Crutchlow.

Looks like the battle will be for 4th. Rossi, Crutchlow, and Bradl.

Espargaro could finish ahead of all the Ducatis.

Turn one, lap one looms large for all 3 classes.
