Couple Inmates at the Expo

From left to right, Devon, Josh, Nylon2000, Sophia, and Belstaff all lined up over by the 4-Wheel display area.

I'll try and get more pics up after tomorrow. Nice meeting some of the inmates both at the fire station and at the Expo!

Thanks for the map Jon! I stopped in Friday afternoon and they said I just missed you. Great event this year!

I'm back in CA now after a few hundred miles of headwinds. Already looking forward to next year, hopefully the same venue.

Schnebly Hill Road is more than passable on an adventure bike, and Forest Road 240 from there to Mormon Lake is bladed gravel. The ride up from Sedona is about a half hour as well as another 15 to 20 minutes over 240.

Anybody traveling that way is required to stop in at the Pinewood Fire Station (right on the 240 road in Munds Park) to say Hi to me and the other ADV rider boys on duty. We've got 8 of us there that'll be attending the expo on one or more of the days (we're on duty some of the time), and we'd be happy to point out some nice rides in the area. Additionally, the Forest Service has shut down a few roads in the area, but I have free maps of the Coconino National Forest in my office that I'll be happy to hand out to anyone stopping (until they run out anyway!).

So, stop by for a cup of coffee and some bike talk. You can't miss the station, and we love company.

I know it's okay to do it... I'm the Chief!!!!

John
Hey Capt! Met 3 of your Firefighters Friday nite (2 guys and a gal bad with names) after riding Shenebly Hill (great ride thanks!) They took great care of us with maps and directions! Rode the 300 to Woods Canyon on to pinetop and stayed Saturday at my cabin. Sunday Saltriver Canyon on home to Tucson... 750 miles in 3 days... Great Time!

Went last year. Couldn't make it this year. Planning for next year. It was a good time. Just amazing amounts of diverse kit.

I missed the Chief on Thursday afternoon by about 10 mins and snagged a map from his firefighters. Caught up with him and a couple Friday afternoon near the entrance and chatted a bit (failed to identify myself as to which inmate was me! )
I was in the RawHyde class shown in the pic above but I must've been hiding. Was great seeing all the ADV bikes and riders there. What an awesome sight to be heading out on the road and turn around to see a dozen or so other GS headlights following!
Spotted Nylon's camp but didn't get to meet up.
Fun time and I look forward to next year!

Thanks for welcoming us, Chief! Great riding last weekend thanks to the map. So many trails, so little time.

Hey! I took a photo that looks remarkably similar...

Great riding with you, Dawn and Art.

And here's one of me with a little less dirt on my face (I managed to ride in front this time), with my friend Dan, middle, and Dave from Nelson BC.
