The yer a peein & taliban tour

Well, Im in germany waiting impatiently for my bike to arrive.
should be here in 2 days. why does US customs have to be so slow?

Anyhow, I figgered this was as good a time as any to get this RR started, even tho it really wont start until friday.

I'll take off from where the hot dog was invented, Frankfurt, & go to a chopper show this weekend, then head south to Greece. I'll spend a few months in eastern europe, before heading to the middle east, as I wanna see what them talibanners is up to. Plus, I aint never been there.
I had no luck getting a tourist visa for Iran & Saudi Arabia so far, but I'll visit every other place I can get into.
Along the summers travels, there will be many bike parties as usual, nice scenery, interesting places, and I'll try to get some more pics of hot chicks, as those seem to be pretty popular.
and you may possibly witness a few roadside repairs.
Nothing major tho, as Im not on a BMW.

Doug

heres the bike I built this winter, it started out as a basically stock 1975 harley shovelhead. by the time I was finished, I had only used the motor & the front half of the frame from the original bike (so the numbers still matched)

and my route, which as usual is subject to change depending on my whimsical route planning, and interesting things I hear about that I may wanna run off n look at

The bike is PRIMO!

Did you send the Saudis and Iraians links to your other trip reports? That way they could find out what an ambassidor you are. Then they'd welcome you with open arms instead of loaded arms.

Good luck and safe travels!

Maybe if your promised Irans' Imanutjob that he could ride bitch. you could have gotten a visa.
That bike is tits! WOW! the leather too is an amazing looking color. But that Zumo looks so out of place on that bike. Kinda like an 8-ball hand shifter on a GS1200.
Safe Journeys!

trip looks great.

a word to the wise, you probably wont get into syria if you have an israeli stamp in your passport. worth bearing in mind while you're in that region.

Also, don't expect an easy crossing into israel, they are going to want to know EVERYTHING about your trip though Iraq and Syria.

yep, thats why I leave israel by boat, because you cant get back into syria if you have been to 'occupied palestine' as they call it.
and yes, israel will stamp the visa on a separate piece of papr so its not in your passport, but they can still see that you left jordan & went somewhere. they aint idiots. If the boat plan cant get arranged, then I'll return by land & not visit israel

I looked into it a little bit.

but not enough to cancel out the adventure!

the only thing that saudis seem to like that is american is green & folds.
and the iranian tourist agency just sorta laughed
'you wanna come here? on a harley???
seems they dont like americans.

I told em I was from the confederacy, & we also had a problem with an unwanted yankee occupation, but they still said no.

But I think that story may work ok in Iraq

Doug

From what I remember the problem was entering Syria, they were:

'So, you go from here to Jordan?'

Yes.

'Then, maybe.......Israel?'

No, no no no no. Aqaba, ferry to Egypt. No problem.

'Ah, OK'

Of course I WAS going to Israel from Jordan, but the Syrians didn't have to know that. The Jordanians didn't care.

Enjoy the trip! Should be a hoot. Turkey, Syria, Jordan are all ace.

Very cool! I am soo in!

Im happy to see your intended route puts you in Kiev. I was born there! L'vov is very very nice town to see as well, especially old apartment buildings with very neat inner courts. Totally worth getting lost in there for a bit. I did, in 2008

Have fun out there!

So, you spend the winter building kick-ass custom bikes, then spend the summer riding them fuck-all over the world, stopping by every big biker party you come across?

Dude, I sooo want to be you when I grow up!

Loved the last two RR's, can't wait for this one!
