Wis DMV issue, Fed Cert Label

Tried to register my '04 950 Adv in WI today (MO bike), sent me away to get a pic of the Federal Certification Label to prove that the bike is on-road legal. I believe it is on the frame rail behind the left hand gas tank and a pain to get at. Is that the correct location? Anyone have a picture of one they could send me? The ladies at the DMV are absolute idiots and won't listen. Thanks.

Registered my SE at the Green Bay DMV last year and had no issues. Of course a big waste of my time since I am headed right back to VA in a couple of months........

it's on the right hand side of my frame ('06) close to the steering head- hard to read due to tank/upper shroud in the way

people have reported problems registering their bikes in several states as this label gets damaged by wiring/cables.

just another way the DMV is making our lives better

I cut up 2 pieces of foam insulation and tie wrapped them over the fed sticker and the vin sticker because they were already trying to peel at the edges. I didn't have a good reason but I knew someday one would go missing and some little piss-ant at the DMV would screw with me...So I protected them..

I also live in Misery and never have had a problem. I thought a certain spot in the VIN told that story. Road or offroad...

KTM has refused to brand titles/machines for a while, thats why 06 is the last year that you can take north to canada for import isn't it?

Eau Claire is 90 miles away. The scrutiny is there because I bought it from out of state, if it had a WI title it would slide right through. I am taking the body work off and will take a pic of the Fed Labels and proceed with an oil change while I am at it, thanks.

I bought my 05.5 from IL and had no trouble in my small city of FdL.

I did have a little trouble with my MI titled 02 640A as that VIN had one extra digit per the DMV person. He was a little confused but it went through just fine. From what I remember (at the time) DOT legal bikes have a certain number of digits in the VIN which makes them legit.
