Thanks all for the feedback. I ended up ordering an Oregon 450 from GPSCity, they have it for $160 right now. It's not the same design as the Oregon those Germans are smacking around in the video but from other things I've read it should work fine.

Just one word of advise, do not hardwire it as the usb connector will fail with in time.

The best offroad gps if you do not require any route just on the road in my opinion is presently Montana series.
I have used Zumo GPS for 3 years excels as a combined highway and offroad gps.
The big problem was that it can not present topo maps in a good way. Montana can handle it without problems. The limitations of route management, can I live with
