If I don't have to work I'll be down for some lunch and street riding.

Front page has been updated. Don't forget to PM me some notes (or just post in the thread) so I can get the upcoming events section back rolling. Same with recent ride reports I may have missed.

Cherohala Biker Gear...aka Tellico moto is back!

So like me I'm sure many of you lament the fact that Tellico Moto is no longer around. Good news though, it's basically being resurrected, as Cherohala Biker Gear. Kristie, the woman that runs the Charles Hall museum gift shops (and "biker" t-shirts) is starting to pick up the slack. The store is located right at the start of the Skyway, next to the museum and visitors center. She now has some Klim and Olympia gear in stock, working on First Gear, Tourmaster/Cortech, and I've suggested Wolfman luggage to boot (and showed her all my stuff). She has a bunch of perforated gear and rain gear right now.

So now when you come to stay at the Farmhouse, or eat at the bakery, the Beach, or the Tellicafe, you can now peruse and buy quality gear! Yeah!

Anyone have any experience plating a dirt bike in TN? I'm about to try to get my XR600 I just bought tagged, and any insight on what I need to do (other than adding street legal pieces obviously) to get it done?

I think if it says OHV use only it doesn't matter. At least that is what I could find when i was looking into that topic.

I've never done it but what I've heard from people who have says it depends on what the title says, where you go, and who you talk to. Some county clerk's offices don't care and only want your money. I've heard tales of trying to register one that says "off road only" and the VIN going on a "do not register" list that'll screw you forever. If the title is clear, you shouldn't have a problem.

I am 99% sure it can't be done here if the title says OHV. TN does not allow any dirt bike to be converted to street then inspected to change the title. However, if that same bike gets converted and titled in any other state for "On Road", then brought into TN, then TN will issue a new title with the same "On Road" designation.

I guess I should also mention I do not have a title, bill of sale only. I'm going go to the annex tomorrow and hope I get someone who just doesn't care and see how it goes.

I have a 63 chevy truck that I restored just before moving to TN and the only paperwork I had was a handwritten bill of sale that was 15 years old.... had no problem at all and the lady apologized that the title would take a few weeks to receive in the mail but I walked out with a plate and registration. It will depend if the title is still recorded and what it says.

That was easy. Told them it is a street legal dual sport and the previous owner just used it as a dirt bike.

Now I'm just waiting on my brake light switches from baja designs, then I can go some dual sporting
