Hub and axle size question

Looking for a set of knobbies for my F650, not concerned with tubeless so looking at a cheap set of spoked wheels.

I come from a cycling background where there is only a small set of options for hub widths and axle sizes. Is this true for motorcycles? How wide and what axle would I need for easy use on the BMW?

Is there a common dirt bike donor out there?

Well Matt, have you posted a pic of this new lava yet?

The rear wheel is simple, get a 800. The swingarm is the same and the rest as far as I know but the rim is wider. The front is your problem and I can't help there. Don't know if the 650 singles are doable.

In any case, there are a few rear wheels on Ebay but expensive. There's one here in Canada with a trashed rim for $500. Also some single fronts going cheap if they will work.

Good luck.

So GS650GS front and F800GS rear is an option.

Harder question, is there a budget option? Like a dirtbike wheelset with some spacers? Or is that going to be too narrow of a tire?

Dirt bike hubs are way too narrow and won't take your stock cush drive assembly.

You can make a KTM 950/990 wheel and cush drive fit with some custom wheels spacers and a brake disc spacer (hub is too narrow). Won't really be cheaper than the BMW wheel, though.
