I think that comes from their engines. I mean once you start a KTM Adventure it's like a firework of pure energy on a dirtbike with the knowledge that there is a cop waiting for you at every corner to take your driving licence away

I forgot - they come with lots of Red Bull or was it just bull :-)
One thing I am curious about though is what kind of dirt/adventure tire do you put on a 150HP bike and how fast will one ride the road with it ...

I really like the KTMs and the RC8R is IMHO one the best looking bikes. If I wouldn't think they will soon throw lots of electronics at it, I might even buy one. But now it's technology is just old.

I think the worst part of these 150hp is that if you put a knobbi on it it won't make more than 2000miles :o)

Finally someone who likes the RC8R... I think its electronics are a good compromise between a S1000RR full of electronics that every noob can ride and an old bike where there is nothing at all.
Personnaly I like the fact that even I could ride a 200hp bike with all the electronics on it, but wouldn't like to be one one if one of these features fail :o)

The downside to 150 hp.... Thinking..... Thinking...... I got nothing ;)

85 hp is just about right for my adventures though :)

But does the new model have cruise control?

I hope BMW adds CC to the new 800's. Awesome feature for LD riding.

Adventure!

The seat looks deluxe, and the bigger fuel tank would be quite useful.

Don't think it won't come with CC since it's not "ride by wire" =/

35" seat height?

I would love to see a version with about a 32" seat height, and cast wheels and tubeless tires.

A low seat is available.

From BMW's site:

35.0 inches Standard; low seat 33.9 inches (available as accessories and/or factory options, see an authorized BMW Motorrad dealer)

New GS 800 Adventure

Got a mail from the BMW dealer saying the new 800 adventure will be launched in a few months. The main difference's are similar to the 1200 adventure

Extra 8 Lt of Fuel
Crash bars
Wide Pegs
10 mm higher

It says in brochure that it has new seat is more comfortable than the normal seat(which implies that the current seat is comfortable )'
Still no pricing and they say it has a range of 500km but I only get about 250km on a tank so that would only be at low speed.
