Question Left Tank Electrical Connector Help

Hello. I just picked up a new-to-me 2010 990 adventure. I can't wait for the snow to melt in the mountains :)

Anyway, in the process of getting to know my new bike, I pulled the fuel tanks. The left fuel tank has two electrical connectors. I managed to put too much force on one of the connectors and pulled the wires from the connector, but did not realize it until after the wires were pulled free. The connector that the wires got pulled from is the connector that has the possibility for three conductors, but one of the conductor spots is blocked off. On the tank side of the connector there is a black wire and a red wire. On the bike side of the connector there is an orange wire and a black wire.

So, I assume that I need to align the black wires and the orange one goes to red. Does anybody know if that is correct? I have a shop manual on order, but it won't be here for a week or so.

Thanks in advance!

Sounds like the fuel pump connector? Has 3 wires from the pump and only 2 from the bike harness.

Bike harness Blue/black goes to pump Red

Bike harness Brown goes to pump Black
