My dealer says my waterboxer has synthetic oil from the factory

Please don't turn this into an oil thread but the owner of the shop where I purchased the bike says it has synthetic oil from the factory. In fact, went even further and says all BMW bikes now come from the factory with synthetic oil.

I usually run dino in my boxers. Can anyone confirm if the waterboxer has synthetic oil?

"Trust but verify"

Ronald Reagan to Gorbachev.

Have the oil in the case tested at a lab. Is there supporting documentation the dealer can provide?

I've never sent oil to a lab and I dont' have time before my trip next week. I need to change the oil. I bought some Rotella T6 full synthetic but started thinking the dealer might be wrong.

Hell, I guess it doesn't matter. The R1200RT-P bikes came with synthetic from the factory and it has the same engine as the regular RT.

Well I may have answered my own question. The manual recommends Castrol Power 1 Racing SAE 5w40 which is a fully synthetic oil. Same oil the K1600 bikes take.

Some say dyno is better then synth,or 5-40 is better then 30 weight.
Come on, who wants to argue oil?

Lots of bikes come with full synth from the factory. So no worries.

Not trying to argue oil. I have owned a lot of R1200 bikes and they all ran Wal-Mart dino oil and did just fine. Was just trying to figure out if my bike with 400 mile on it has synthetic from the factory. I figured it out so let's close this one down before it becomes an oil thread pissing match.
