Question New KTM 990 Adventure R Clutch Oil?

Hello all, long time lurker and new Katoom owner. Recently I just purchased my new 'R and I've been farlking it up. I just added CJ Designs clear clutch cover, and love it. Today was the first ride with the cover installed, and I noticed that there didn't appear to be any oil showing on the cover. I did some searches and saw this video.

Needless to say after watching this I went out and ran the bike while watching the clutch. I'm getting NOWHERE near the oil splash as seen on the video. While revving the engine the only noticeable oil is a few small dots, "the size of this *" on the top of the cover.

Bike has a little under 500 miles on and I'm getting ready to do the first oil change. Is my oil jet blocked, or do you think that the bike in the video has a larger oil jet installed and the amount I'm seeing is normal? I haven't noticed any shifting issues.

clean it!

I have a new 99or and cleaned the oil clutch jet and it shifts so much better. that was at 500 miles. easy to check it just take 20 minutes. B

Do tell us more please...I have a brand new 990R and find the shifting a bit clunky (yes, I know it's a KTM and I've had several KTMs) - I just figured its a new box so it would take some time to work itself in a bit...

Just look it up in h.o.w. I can't search with my phone to help.
Oil jet pull your front sprocket cover its behind it. Under a Alan screw plug kind of top left corner. Search it here before you do it. B

Yep, clogged oil jet. Took it apart this am and found it already plugged, hopefully it was just some assembly grease and it'll work itself out in the next couple of oil changes.

I guess my purchase saved KTM a warranty claim for a new clutch.

Thank you. Apart from ease of shifting (which is highly subjective), what other symptoms would indicate this problem that are more objective?

I personally didn't notice any "tells" to the clogged oil jet. I missed some neutrals and some shifts, but just attributed that to me learning the new bike and transmission.

Maybe someone else can chime in. I think that on a new engine it'd be in anyones best interest to check during your first service since it is early at 600 and some miles into operation and really simple to do.
